Twenty-five properties in Mull are to benefit from energy efficiency measures, it has been announced.
Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) has said it will invest £700,000 in the homes, with A C Whyte undertaking the work on the organisation's behalf. The project will begin this month and are scheduled for completion by May 2015.
Alastair MacGregor, ACHA's Chief Executive, said: "I am delighted that we are able to get this contract on site and look forward to visiting our tenants once the works are completed to view the buildings for myself.
"Our roof and roughcast programme over the last 4 years has provided tangible benefits to our tenants' homes but also has markedly reduced fuel costs."
Councillor Roddy McCuish added: "This contract shows the commitment of ACHA to housing right across Oban, Lorn and the Isles. I am delighted to hear this contract has been awarded and work will be progressing soon.
"I am sure ACHA's tenants will feel the benefit of this upgrade which shows the commitment of the Association to continuous improvement of its homes as well as building new stock throughout Argyll and Bute."
