A bid has been submitted by a community group to the National Forest Land Scheme (NFLS) to purchase an area of land at Kinachreachan.
The bid has been made by the Dalmally Community Company (DCC) and is for 0.7 hectares on the Loch Awe side of the land.
Administered by Forestry Commission Scotland, the NFLS allows communities the opportunity to bid, buy or lease national forest land on the basis that it provides increased public benefits.
The proposal by DCC, for the common good, involves the creation of a car park and viewpoint for Kilchurn Castle. It would would replace the current arrangements which are said to be dangerous.
A consultation period on the plans is now underway. Details of the application, as well as how to comment on the plans can be found here.
All proposals must be submitted by Wednesday 18 February.
