A housing development by Kingdom Housing Association has been completed.

Situated in the village of Largoward, in the east of Fife, 12 new affordable homes have been completed. The £1.5m development consists of two- and three-bedroom cottages, flats and two-storey houses.

The new homes were part of the final phase of a £3m project which commenced between 1999 and 2002, when 19 homes were completed. However, the third phase was unable to be developed due to drainage issues. In 2013, Scottish Water said drainage capacity was available, allowing the build to go ahead.

Welcoming the progress made, Bill Banks, Chief Executive at Kingdom, said: "We were very pleased to end the year on high note with the completion of these homes in Largoward. I would like to thank the Scottish Government, Fife Council and Scottish Water for their support.

"I would also like to thank Campion Homes for finishing the houses to such a high standard. The houses comply with Building Control's Silver Sustainability standard.

"They have also achieved 'A' ratings for their Energy Performance Certificates and we have employed a range of modern technologies to make them energy efficient. Secured by Design accreditation has also been secured for the development making the houses safe and secure."
