Builder Injured In Shop Fall

A builder has suffered serious head injuries following a fall at an empty shop unit in Edinburgh.

It is understood the man, aged 57, was working at the Fort Kinnaird shopping centre in the city when he fell 15ft. The incident happened at 12.30pm on Thursday (15 January). He was working on the renovation of one of the retail units.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "He was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by the Scottish Ambulance Service and is considered to be in a serious condition. Inquiries are ongoing at this time."

A spokeswoman for Fort Kinnaird confirmed that an incident involving a workman had occurred on site, but would not comment further due to the ongoing investigation.
