A section of the A82 trunk road is to be assessed by engineers after severe weather conditions caused damage to the road at the weekend.
On Sunday, landslides and fallen trees affected a section of the A82 south of Fort William, causing damage.
It is understood engineers from Bear Scotland will check whether a bridge on the route has also sustained damage due to the conditions.
Around 50 people in 15 vehicles were trapped between the landslides for a number of hours. No one was injured in the incident.
A diversion remains in place in motorists, while an amber weather warning is also still in place for the west of Scotland.
