Police Scotland have issued a warning to homeowners after a bogus workman took around £10,000 from a 79-year-old woman in Falkirk.
It is understood the conman visited the woman homes in Wolfe Road on a number of occasions, offering to carry out various work on the property.
The woman paid the man for the work but nothing was ever done.
The bogus workman is described as white and aged in his 40s.
Police have appealed for anyone who saw a workman in the area to contact them immediately.
And reminded the public never to allow cold callers into the homes or to pay them money for goods or services unless entirely certain of their authenticity.
