Aberdeen is in the running to be named Scotland's most dismal town, as part of Urban Realm's Carbuncle awards.
The so-called Granite City has been nominated for the Plook on a Plinth award, on the grounds that Aberdeen is "where architecture goes to die".
Fellow nominees include Cumbernauld and Lochgelly.
The award was established in 2000, with the stated aim of provoking debate.
Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeen Civic Society have said that the nomination is "unfair".
The winner is to be announced next year.
