Investors Sought For Shawfields Business District

Clyde Gateway has said it is looking investors to support its future development plans at Shawfield.

The regeneration agency hopes to capitalise on the recent success of the 2014 Commonwealth Games which created widespread interest in the regeneration of Glasgow's East End area.

Among the ventures it is seeking investors for, is the 65-hectare business park at Shawfield, which comprises mostly of Class 4 business space in buildings of 20,000 sq ft to 300,000 sq ft. The park can also accommodate a business centre, hotel, complementary shops, cafés, and a gym.

The 1.2 million sq ft scheme has been designed by 7N Architects and will adopt an urban character, with landscaping connecting the buildings with the nearby riverfront. The development team, led by Mace, includes Arup, Ironside Farrar and Sheppard Robson.

Ian Manson, Clyde Gateway chief executive said: "It's clear that the location, the value for money and of course the quality of build available is second to none. That's why these new developments are not to be missed opportunities for potential investors.

"This is their chance to get involved with us and play a significant part of something which is already making huge economic and lifestyle differences to the lives of people in and around Glasgow.

"The Shawfield development, in particular, is a one of a kind. It's the largest planning consent in Scotland and the 11th largest in the UK – what an opportunity that presents."
