A funding package to help construct the largest community-owned wind farm in the UK has been agreed.
Three turbines have been proposed by community organisation Point and Sandwick Power for Lewis, situated in the Western Isles.
The turbines would be capable of generating 9MW of power.
It is understood the £15m funding has been agreed with the Big Lottery Fund, the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and Santander Bank.
When completed, it is anticipated that the development will generate some £1m a year for local communities, the BBC has reported.
