A number of organised tours have taken place to allow the local community to explore the new Hillhead Community Centre.

Located in Kirkintilloch, work on the new £2.7m facility was completed earlier this month. It will be officially opened in September.

East Dunbartonshire Council Leader, Rhondda Geekie, commented: "The Council has worked closely with local people to get to this point and it's fantastic to see this much-needed facility now finished. The Community Centre is a modern and vibrant building that will provide user groups and the wider community with excellent facilities.

"The Council hopes this will be an important social centre for the people of Hillhead and it was encouraging to hear so many positive comments from members of the community as I toured the building with them. There will be an official opening in September and we look forward to welcoming the community along to join in the celebrations."
