A workman has been rescued after he fell down a man-made hole in Drumoak.

The incident happened at around 3.40pm on Tuesday (28 July), but details have only just emerged. In a statement, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), said the man fell down a man-made hole – measuring around one metre wide and eight metres deep – on a site where construction work is taking place on the new Drumoak Primary School.


The SFRS dispatched two appliances from Banchory, while a specialist team from Aberdeen was also sent to the scene. A successful line rescue was carried out and the man was removed from the hole. He sustained minor injuries in the accident.
