Lovell has been appointed to deliver a £4.1m housing development in Whitburn, West Lothian.
The housing developer has been selected by Almond Housing Association to build the development on a brownfield site in East Main Street.
A total of 49 new homes – for social rent – will be constructed on the land that previously belonged to the former Whitdale Primary School Annexe.
The project is expected to take 60 weeks to complete and, upon completion, will consist of a mix of houses and flats. Part of the new development will also incorporate stone reclaimed from the demolished school building.
Alan Taylor, Lovell Regional Director, said: "We are delighted to have been appointed to this project which is our first scheme for Almond Housing Association. Our team has a strong track record in delivering modern and attractive affordable homes, built to a high standard. It is exciting to be bringing that expertise to this important new development."
Speaking on behalf of the West Lothian Development Alliance, George Webster, Chief Executive of Almond Housing Association, added: "We are looking forward to completing a top-quality development which will be a great asset to the community of West Lothian.
"The efforts of our development team here working with colleagues in the Scottish Government and West Lothian Council are well rewarded by the provision of fantastic new housing for rent and Lovell can produce exactly what we are looking for in terms of quality and cost. We are extremely pleased to see our plans to build on this site come to fruition."
