The SSE Hydro, located in Glasgow, has scooped a major architectural award.
The entertainment venue, which has been designed by architects Foster + Partners, received the accolade at the annual Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) dinner in the city.
Commenting on the venue's design, the judges described it as a "dramatic new landmark arena. Superbly lit, it becomes a night-time beacon."
The judging panel for this year's awards included Marjorie Appleton FRIAS, Doug Read PPRIAS, Liz Davidson OBE Hon FRIAS, Craig White RIBA and George Oldham RIAS RIBA, representing the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Thirteen winners were announced on the night, showcasing the very best of Scottish architecture.
Iain Connelly, President of the RIAS, said: "83 submissions from throughout Scotland, ranging in cost from £26,000 to £125m, is a tremendous vote of confidence. It absolutely confirms that this award, in only its third year, is now the single most important recognition of architectural achievement in Scotland."
SSE is the title sponsor of the 13,000-capacity auditorium located in Glasgow.
