Inverclyde Council has revealed that its new self-build plots have been oversubscribed in its first weeks of release.
A total of eight plots, located in Leperstone Avenue, Kilmacolm, are thought to have received interest from more than 80 people who are looking to build their own home in the area.
The release of the plots is part of the local authority's re-population plans to encourage more people to go to Inverclyde to live.
Councillor Stephen McCabe, Inverclyde Council Leader, said: "It's welcome news that so many people are interested in coming to live in Inverclyde. It is crucial to our area that we promote repopulation and encourage many more people to live, visit and set up business in our area.
"We all know what a great area Inverclyde is to live. Initiatives like attending the Ideal Home Show gives us a chance to spread the word to a wider audience and raise the profile of Inverclyde."
In addition to releasing the self-build plots, Inverclyde Council is offering a number of incentives to new residents into the area, such as opportunities for council tax discounts for the first two years, plus the services of a relocation officer to assist with finding a home and accessing local services and properties.
