Residents of tenements in Dundee could be set to benefit from a new door entry system.
Councillors will be asked to agree to the plans next week.
More than £500,000 could be spent on the work which would be carried out at 80 closes across the city, including Abbotsford Street and Yarrow Terrace, the local authority has said.
Commenting on the proposals, Convener of Dundee City Council's Housing Committee, John Alexander, said: "This phase of works, the first this year, follows on from the successful fitting of secure door entry systems on other properties.
"The contract is part of our close working relationship with local contractor McGill and represents a win-win situation for our tenants and the city's economy."
