The Kessock Bridge could fully reopen ahead of schedule, it has been reported.
One lane of the bridge at Inverness has been closed since February and initially it was thought they would not reopen until the end of June. According to Bear Scotland however, it is hoped the lanes will now open within the next few weeks.
While the lanes could open during the day, it is understood that the closures would still be in place overnight.
A £13m resurfacing and repair programme is currently being carried out on the crossing, of which the first phase was carried out last year.
