The final stages of work being undertaken on the String Road, Arran, the local authority has said.

Due to the work being carried out, the road will open each day – under convey – from 12.30pm to 1pm, and 7pm to 9pm, as well as overnight from 9pm to 7am under traffic lights until 7 May.

From this date, the stretch of road will then be open 24 hours a day under traffic signals.

A spokesperson for North Ayrshire Council said: "We appreciate that work on Arran's roads can be disruptive and would like to thank local residents for their patience and co-operation."
