A project to upgrade a children's play area at Esk Road, Inverness, has been completed.

The scheme involved pupils from Cauldeen and Hilton Primary School who played a role in planning and designing the scheme, as well as choosing the equipment they wanted to see included in the park.

The main features of the play area are a cable ride, high nest swing, rope net pyramid, roundabout, small trampoline, clamber stack and teen shelter.


A grant of £139,639 was provided by the Big Lottery Fund Scotland for the work, while additional funding was provided from local Councillors from their Ward Discretionary budget.

Councillor Alasdair Christie, Chair of The Highland Council's Adult and Children's Services Committee, said: "This is an excellent example of how young people have taken the lead to develop a play area fit for the 21st Century that improves local amenities and benefits all local residents."
