Aberdeen City Council and Network Rail are to enter discussions about plans for the regeneration of the city centre.
The talks, which are set to commence on Monday (3 February), will see the Council's Director of Enterprise, Planning and Infrastructure Gordon McIntosh open exploratory talks with Network Rail Scotland Development Manager Alan MacMillan. They will discuss a number of issues related to the city, including improved access to the railway station from Union Terrace Gardens.
Aberdeen City Council is in the process of procuring a masterplan for the city centre as part of the regeneration process for the area.
Deputy Council Leader Marie Boulton said: "This is an important initial meeting with Network Rail, who could be an important partner in our efforts to rejuvenate and modernise our city centre.
"This is a first step in what will inevitably be a complex process, but which promises the possibility of huge rewards for Aberdeen."
