Improvement Works For Barrhead Sports Centre

Barrhead Sports Centre will partially close today (10 January) as major improvement works are undertaken at the site.

The closure is necessary to allow contractors to switch off the power at the building for a short time. As a result, the pool and gym will close from 12.30pm. The gym is expected to reopen at 6pm tonight, but the pool will remain closed until Saturday morning. The teaching pool remains closed for essential repairs.

In addition, East Renfrewshire Council has said there will be some disruption to the rear of the building for approximately a week starting on Monday (13 January), to allow other work to be carried out.

Substantial works are being carried out at Barrhead Sports Centre to create the new £3.8m Barrhead Foundry, which is scheduled to open in 2015.
