New Highland Road Opened

A ceremony has been held to mark the opening of the A838 Laxford Bridge North approach road in the Highlands.

The work was undertaken by Pat Munro (Alness) Ltd, under the supervision of the local authority.

Councillor Graham Phillips cut the ribbon to mark the official opening, and said: "It is always a red letter day when we open a new stretch of road.

"This improvement is very welcome indeed in this distinctive corner of the Highlands, allowing motorists to make their journeys in a safer fashion and cutting time off journey times."
