A new landmark has been unveiled in Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire.

Situated at the junction of Benvue Road and Rowantree Place, a feature wall inscribed with the name 'Lennoxtown' has been installed. The new amenity will also include the provision of two new seating areas and has been delivered by Campsie Community Council. It was funded through the Landfill Community Fund with an additional £2,000 contribution from the East Dunbartonshire Council's Civic Pride Action Fund.

David Carlin, Chair of Campsie Community Council said: "The majority of the public that I have spoken to have said the wall is eye catching as you come into Lennoxtown and I have passed it at night and it looks excellent lit up.

"Also, the seating is in a good area especially for the buses. I must thank Mr Gordon Strain, Neighbourhood Services Strategy Officer, as we have benefited from his assistance getting the funds and hopefully he will continue to work with the Campsie Community Council for the good of Lennoxtown."

Councillor Ghai, Convener of Neighbourhood Services, added: "This fantastic new landmark in Lennoxtown is an extremely attractive feature which is particularly striking in the evenings when the signage is lit up. I am sure residents and visitors will enjoy it for many years to come."
