Angus Council has said it will continue its membership of the Supplier Development Programme (SDP) to help keep the area working.

The SDP provides free specialist advice, information and training to support and assist businesses in Angus to tender for contracts. It is a local authority partnership programme established to offer small and medium sized enterprises the opportunity to grow and diversify through procurement.

Angus Council's Economic Development spokesperson, Councillor Mairi Evans, said: "Angus Council is committed to supporting the small and medium sized business community in Angus. Membership of the Supplier Development Programme adds to our extensive package of business support services, and helps local businesses to become better at bidding for contracts to the benefit of the local economy. One of the companies who recently registered for the SDP programme is the Forster Roofing group."

In conjunction with SDP, Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Chambers are also hosting a number of "Geared for Gold" roadshows in Scotland over the coming months. These roadshows will provide face-to-face tendering support for delegates who are interested in bidding for Commonwealth Games work.
