Next week, the Environment Committee will be asked to approve the additional spending if an initiative for enhancements – led by the Friends of the Magdalen Green group – attracts external funding.
Councillors are also being asked to work in partnership with the group in seeking the finances.

Following recent safety improvements by the Council, the Friends group have developed ambitious plans for the facility.
Depute Environment Convener, Councillor Vari McDonald, said: "I am pleased that we are proposing to invest this money in further improvements and also help the Friends group to find more sources of funding.
"The council has been improving play areas in communities across the city and we want to give families and children the chance to get out and enjoy their local environment.
"It helps in so many ways for health and wellbeing."
