The second phase of a staged opening of one of the new Tay Road Bridge ramps is to take place this week.

It will see drivers coming from the east, who want to go over the bridge, now being directed onto the new bridge ramps, while traffic from Dock Street and travelling west, will use the new ramp from Thursday (18 July) to allow demolition of the current off ramp.


Access to City Quay via South Victoria Dock Road will be closed for two weeks while the contractors – Sir Robert McAlpine Limited – demolish the current southbound ramp next to Customs House.

An alternative route via South Marketgait, East Marketgait, East Port Roundabout, East Marketgait, South Marketgait and West Victoria Dock Road will be signposted and local residents have been notified of the closure by letter.

Half of the new ramp has been open to traffic from the west since 10 July.
