From Monday 15 July, East Ayrshire Council will be carrying out essential road resurfacing works on the A70 Main Street, Muirkirk.
The works will last for approximately eight days and will involve the removal of the existing road surface and resurfacing a 240m length of road.
Adjustments to kerbing and footways will be undertaken where necessary.
As a result of the roadworks, temporary two-way traffic signals will be installed to control traffic on the A70, while a section of the B743 Glasgow Road from Burns Avenue to the A70 will be closed to traffic. Signed diversions will be in place.
A no-waiting order will also be in place on Wellwood Street and Main Street for the duration of the works.
The Council has advised motorists that it is important to note that some residents will be exiting onto the A70 Main Street and therefore joining traffic under signal control, so they must only exit when it is safe to do so and join the traffic in the direction of their travel.
For the duration of the road works, traffic marshals will be present to assist pedestrians at crossing points and also motorists.
Delays are expected throughout the duration of the roadworks.
