The first new council homes to be built in Kingussie for more than 20 years have been completed.
The milestone was marked with a ceremony, and some of the new tenants were welcomed into their new houses.
The four two-bedroom council homes have been built on a previously undeveloped and overgrown Council-owned site, which has now been regenerated to offer the new properties.
Each of the new homes is heated with air source pumps and is built to energy efficient, low maintenance building standards.
They were constructed by Inverness-based Compass Building and Construction Services Limited, and were designed by the Council’s Design Team.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chair of the Highland Council's Finance, Housing and Resources Committee, Councillor Dave Fallows said the scheme "comes at a time when building of new homes is challenging and I am especially pleased as these are the first council houses to be built in the area for over twenty years."
The cost of the project was £530k with £120k in grant monies from the Scottish Government.
