Inverness-based firm Begetube has announced it is to supply a heating system to a building in the Falkland Islands.

The system will be used to heat the new Falkland Islands Museum in Stanley.

The project, which was won by Charlie Allen, proprietor of Grampian Plumbing Services in Rothes, will be to provide the correct environment for more than 4,000 exhibition items currently occupying a 170m sq space.

The new building will be more than three times the size of the original one.

The use of the underfloor heating will not only help to enhance the space available, but it will also allow for the microclimate to be more accurately controlled, which is a key priority when preserving a number of the more delicate artefacts on display.
