Scottish Borders Council has granted planning approval for the development of 91 homes in West Linton.

Springfield Properties secured the plans for the first housing development in the village for ten years. The site is 4.34 hectares of agricultural land from the local Robinsland Farm.

The Robinsland development will be adjacent to the new primary school which is currently under construction and expected to open in time for the summer term.

A mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced homes have been outlined in the plans and will be complemented by the refurbishment of farm outbuildings into four new steadings.

At the centre of the development, will be The Square and a small village green area, to ensure the build retains the village feel of the community.

The layout is designed to maximise open views and space around the houses and has been developed with local architects Aitken Turnbull to meet the Scottish Government's Designing Streets agenda.

Pedestrian and cycle routes will be around the development as well as a new footpath connection alongside the new school playing fields, joining the site to the nearby community hub.
