BAM Construction Scotland Appointed New Regional Director

BAM Construction in Scotland has been appointed a new Regional Director.

BAM Construct UK appointed Douglas Keillor for the new position. He joins the team from his previous position as Construction Director for BAM’s West of Scotland and retail operations.

Mr Douglas joined BAM 24 years ago, when he was on summer placement from Napier University.

A member of the CIOB, he has studied business and management at the Roffey Park Institute and Henley Business School.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Douglas said: "I am delighted to be leading BAM Construction in Scotland at this challenging time. We have a great team and a clear strategy for developing the business and I’m relishing the opportunity."

Mr Douglas has vast experience in the industry, having delivered high profile projects such as the original extension to the Edinburgh Royal Hospital for Sick Children, the new Anniesland College, the Bio-medical building at Strathclyde University and new schools and leisure projects in Renfrewshire.

He has also been responsible for the management and delivery of over 80 Asda stores across the UK since 1996.

Graham Cash, Chief Executive at BAM Construct UK remarked: "There are few professionals who can claim to have such a construction pedigree and we are delighted to have such a talent leading our construction business in Scotland. Douglas takes over the helm from Ken Irving who has retired after 17 years and we are grateful to Ken for his commitment and service."

BAM Construction has delivered a number of important projects over the past fifty years such as the £18m refurbishment of Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow’s West End and the Riverside Transport Museum.
