A protest march is planned over controversial plans for the creation of a waste recycling plant next to one of Aberdeen's most popular parks.
Waste firm SITA has applied for planning permission for the recycling centre on the former Grove Nursery site beside Hazlehead Park, which is home to a memorial garden and statue.
A city council spokesperson said a recycling centre was needed in the west of the city, and that the housing and environment committee previously agreed the Grove Nursery site was the most suitable.
There are concerns that the plant could create problems with traffic, noise and smells.
There is also concern that it may affect the nearby Piper Alpha memorial, which commemorates the 167 men who lost their lives in the Piper Alpha North Sea platform disaster on 6 July, 1988.
Schoolchildren are expected to be among those at the march.
