Stirling Council Planning Panel has held its first Pre-Determination Hearing to consider an application for planning permission in principle for a major new development in Plean.
The application, by Waveband Properties Limited, is seeking permission in principle to build 500 houses with associated roads, paths and open space, landscaping, new village centre, extension to East Plean Primary School, enhancements on Main Street and upgrades to playing field and changing facilities. The main development site is on farmland to the west of Cadgers Loan/President Kennedy Drive and south of the M9 motorway at Pleanbank Farm.
The application was originally considered by the Planning Panel in January 2009 when the Panel indicated that they were 'minded to approve' the application subject to the conclusion of a legal agreement to ensure the delivery of a package of regeneration projects for the village proposed by the applicant.
The Hearing, Chaired by Panel Chairman Councillor Alasdair MacPherson, was held to allow the applicants and objectors to make representations to the Planning Panel on the current proposals in accordance with planning legislation.
