As part of energy saving week from 25 to 31 October, East Renfrewshire Council has joined forces with the Energy Saving Scotland advice centre, to provide free and impartial home energy saving advice to local residents which could save them a huge £250 per household on energy bills.
Energy saving advisors will be at Barrhead Main Street council offices from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Wednesday 27 October. They will also visit Giffnock HQ, Eastwood Park later that day, from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
People who go along can get energy saving information from a local perspective; and receive advice about energy efficiency, behavioural change, sustainable transport, micro–renewables such as wind, solar thermal, heat pumps, and grant information.
The visits will also see advisors carrying out free home energy checks to give residents a personalised report for their home with a current energy rating, a potential energy rating, and an action plan to improve the energy rating of their home.
Environment convener Cllr Eddie Phillips said: “The Energy Saving Trust is one of Scotland and the UK's leading impartial organisations helping local authorities and communities to save energy and reduce carbon emissions. We are delighted to be working closely with them to help East Renfrewshire residents access expert insight, knowledge and advice about energy saving.”
Call your local Energy Saving Scotland advice centre for free impartial advice: 0800 512 012 or visit the Energy SavingTrust.
