Learning Network To Support Housing Management

A new initiative to support social landlords in becoming more effective and efficient held its inaugural event on 23rd April in Edinburgh.

The free event of the new Housing Management and Efficiencies Learning Network was hosted by the Scottish Government and Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland and flagged the start of a year long project.

The Network joins a suite of other Learning Networks, all of which aim to provide opportunities for shared learning, benchmarking and performance management and comes at a time when the social h ousing sector is facing what is seen as its biggest challenge yet.

Craig McLaren, Head of the Scottish Centre for Regeneration, said: "The Housing Management and Efficiencies Learning Network is the key element in meeting the Scottish Government's commitment to developing a way of improving and sharing best practice. We aim to support housing organisations to advance their knowledge and application of performance improvement techniques and deliver more efficient and effective services."

Sue Shone, Housing Management and Efficiencies Learning Network Co-ordinator, said: "CIH Scotland is delighted to be taking this work forward on behalf of the Scottish Government. In working with colleagues across the social housing sector over the next 12 months, we seek to find new ways of demonstrating and learning from the innovation and best practice that exists in the sector.

I urge everyone who is interested in exploring new ways of delivering more efficient and effective housing management across Scotland's social housing to become a member of this Learning Network."
