Glasgow and Hamilton-based residential letting and property management company Happy Lets is hitting the acquisition trail as it targets increasing its portfolio from 800 to 5,000 properties within five years.
Having acquired The Letting Store in Hamilton one year ago, the firm, led by young husband and wife team Bobby and Preet Sandhu, is now actively examining potential acquisition targets throughout Scotland’s central belt, with Edinburgh and Stirling topping the list of cities earmarked as possible locations for new offices.
Bobby Sandhu said: "Despite, or perhaps even because of, the challenging economic climate, there are presently growth opportunities within the market for residential lets throughout Scotland for the right operator. And we know of a number of private landlords who, having built up a portfolio of residential properties over the course of the last decade or so, are now seeking to exit the sector.
"Our ambition for Happy Lets is to become the biggest and best residential letting and property management company in the business - and we aim to achieve that through both a series of acquisitions and organic growth."
Whilst the team behind Happy Lets are experienced landlords and property managers, having been in the letting industry for over 10 years, the name of the company is new, having rebranded only two months ago.
Previously operating under the Harlequin brand, the firm was founded when property entrepreneur Bobby, 27, married business management graduate Preet, daughter of Glasgow Curry King, Secret Millionaire Charan Gill MBE, and added the management of Charan's various property investments to Bobby's burgeoning enterprise.
With offices in Glasgow’s West End and in Hamilton, Happy Lets manages a £60m property portfolio of properties across Glasgow and Lanarkshire incorporating all property types, from one bedroom studio flats to six bedroom homes.
