Talks on the regeneration plan for Denny town centre are making progress.
Once Falkirk Council and partners Henry Boot Developments plc sign a development agreement, owners and occupiers will be contacted for discussions on property options. In the meantime, the Church Walk scaffolding is being kept in place for health and safety reasons.
Following extensive consultation, Denny residents, businesses and local groups last year approved the revised masterplan.
The revised plan incorporates ideas put forward during the consultation by local people and groups including the Community Council and the Town Centre Development Group which includes elected members, local businesses and community representatives.
The multi-million pound regeneration proposals will include an 18,000 sq ft foodstore, new library with community space, shops, offices restaurant/bar and residential units and better traffic management and environmental improvements.
Councillor Dr Alex Waddell, Chairman of Denny Town Centre Group, said: "Putting everything in place for a major regeneration project like Denny takes time and care. The development agreement is a critical and important phase of any regeneration scheme and complex legal aspects have to be taken into account.
"However, Falkirk Council and Henry Boot remain firmly committed to the regeneration project and we look forward to making progress soon."
