Rok is helping customers harness the benefits of Scotland's many natural resources by expanding its commercial and residential renewable energy installation service.
Using renewable energy has become increasingly popular on Rok's projects over the past few years with demand for more sustainable and energy efficient technologies growing as the prices of oil, gas and electricity rise.
In the last 18-months alone, the company has installed more than 250 solar panels for residential customers in new or existing properties.
Building on this growing demand and its own expertise, the builder is offering a competitive installation service using a dedicated team of energy specialists. Not only can the team offer advice to customers on applying for grants to help cover the cost of work since they are not tied to one particular supplier, they can also install the most appropriate system for the property concerned.
Andy Mallice, area leader for Rok Edinburgh said: "This expansion within Rok brings together the wealth of knowledge and expertise that has been nurtured throughout the company over many years. Our customers have been telling us that they are keen to explore new ways of minimising the environmental impact of their properties whilst cushioning themselves from continual energy price rises."
Scotland is well placed to take advantage of the various systems on the market. Long daylight hours in summer and moderate temperatures in winter allow efficient operation of solar, air source and geothermal systems. Renewable energy technology can also help increase the value of a property and make it more desirable to would be buyers.
Andy added: "Sustainability is high on the agenda of the way Rok addresses the challenges of protecting our fragile environment. With uncertainty surrounding the present market and growing pressure to reduce our carbon output as a result of climate change, people are increasingly turning towards renewable technologies. The renewable energy division within Rok recognises these changes will allow us to lead the way in this growing market."
