Ecoliving Announces Organic Growth

Specialist distributor of renewable energy heating systems Ecoliving today announced expansion in the UK with the opening of two new offices.

Ecoliving - which markets renewables including heat pumps that take free renewable energy from the ground, water or air - has appointed two new Technical Managers in Scotland to meet growing demand for the company's products and expertise.

Iain Thomas and Jim Cumming, based in Inverness and Shetland respectively, join a 16-strong team at Ecoliving which has a network of expert installers across the UK and is headquartered in Glasgow.

Colin Kerr, one of Ecoliving's three founding directors, said: "Iain and Jim are a very welcome addition to our team and with their passion for renewable energy and business expertise we're confident that they can help us to satisfy demand, minimise people's carbon footprint and help Ecoliving to continue growing.

"Oil prices are at an all time high and are set to continue rising which has had a huge impact on increasing energy bills for both consumers and businesses. The Highlands and Islands are amongst the worst affected in the country; prices have gone through the roof. Thankfully, more consumers and businesses are beginning to realise that there are real benefits in investing in renewable energy."

As an experienced manager, Iain (38) worked in the manufacturing sector for 18 years and prior to joining Ecoliving, he was Managing Director for part of a multi-national. Iain said: "I've spent a long time in the manufacturing sector and knew it was time for a fresh challenge. I've always been interested in renewable energy so when I was given the opportunity to work with Ecoliving I didn't hesitate to say yes."

"Work is very busy and the signs all point to it getting busier - exciting times lie ahead."

Engineer Jim Cumming (47) moved into the heat pump business five years ago where he independently installed geothermal and heat source pumps. Ecoliving were so impressed with the work that he did for them on a few installations last year that they approached him to join the team.

Jim said: "I am delighted to be working with Ecoliving and have joined at a very busy time where more Housing Associations, developers and individual builds are now factoring renewable energy into their plans.

"Renewable energy presents real cash and environmental benefits and it has been available for many years but people are only starting to believe it now."

Ecoliving is helping to revolutionise the way we heat our businesses, public buildings and homes.

Heat pumps deliver many benefits including a predictable, constant heat all year round, a healthier indoor climate and, as a number of surveys have shown, an increase in the marketability of domestic property. There's clearly the environmental benefit of reduced carbon emissions but the greatest benefit of all is something that we are all interested in - reducing our heating bills.
