An Aberdeen man has put his calculator and spreadsheets away for the final time after announcing his retirement, following a remarkable 47 years of service with construction company, Mansell.
Ian Malcolm, 66, joined Mansell back in 1961 as a commercial apprentice in the company's wages department before going on to work in a number of roles, including purchasing officer and his final position of chief buyer.
Ian, from the Woodend area of Aberdeen, says he is now looking forward to a well-earned rest.
He said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Mansell and it's been interesting to witness at first hand the massive changes - from industry practices to materials usage - the construction sector has undergone in the past half century.
"I've worked with a great team of guys and I'll miss winding up my work colleagues about my OAP fantasy football team topping the Mansell Dream Team League."
George Hood, Divisional Managing Director at Mansell, added: "Ian has been a key member of the Mansell team for many years and during that time has made a terrific contribution to the company.
"He will be very much missed by all his colleagues here at Roman House and we wish him and his family all the very best for a happy and fulfilling retirement."
