Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and Caledonian Properties have secured Approval of Matters Specified in Conditions (AMSC) planning consent from Glasgow City Council to deliver 300 new homes off Robroyston Road.
The overall scheme comprises two distinct neighborhoods. Lumloch View, forming part of the Caledonian Collection, will consist of 73 four- and five-bedroom detached properties. Meanwhile, Lumloch Grove will provide an additional 227 homes featuring a selection of two-, three-, and four-bedroom layouts selected from Taylor Wimpey's current range.
Both developments are designed to meet Glasgow City Council's Gold Standard Hybrid specifications. This standard mandates enhanced energy efficiency, low-carbon design elements, and improved building fabric performance intended to minimise heat loss and reduce operational energy costs for householders.
The broader masterplan integrates public open spaces connected through green networks, new walking and cycling connections, pocket parks, and an equipped play area designated for the local community.
Following close collaboration with Glasgow City Council and local community partners, the developers will also transfer approximately five acres of land at Briarcroft to the Barmulloch Community Development Company (BCDC).
To enhance local transport links, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland will implement safe pedestrian crossing points across Robroyston Road to link the new neighbourhoods to existing and upgraded footpath networks. These improvements aim to facilitate active travel, allowing residents to walk or cycle to schools, public transport stops, and surrounding services.
Martin Findlay, Technical Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: "Along with our development partners, Caledonian Properties, we are delighted to have secured this AMSC planning consent from Glasgow City Council.
"Alongside our existing Monument Way development, this positive outcome reinforces our ongoing commitment to the Robroyston area.
"Our Lumloch View and Lumloch Grove developments aim to integrate seamlessly with the established community. We are excited to deliver new open spaces, green networks and landscaping that will support health and wellbeing, while providing a high-quality choice of new homes built to Glasgow's Gold Standard Hybrid.
"The development will also bring economic benefits, including job creation during construction and increased business for local shops and services."
Charlotte Maclean, Land & Asset Manager for Caledonian Properties, said: "As significant landowners around the north of Glasgow, we are committed to delivering much-needed housing and infrastructure to the area. We have partnered with Taylor Wimpey on numerous projects over the years and are pleased to have worked alongside them on this site in the popular area of Robroyston.
"Taylor Wimpey's approach to quality, landscaping and green spaces aligns with our own beliefs. Our long-term land ownership allows us to consider the strategic development of the area for the benefit of the local communities we support."
Martin McElroy, Chief Executive of BCDC, said: "The wider social and economic benefits this development will bring to the area will be hugely valuable to people in Robroyston. We're pleased to see that Taylor Wimpey West Scotland will transfer a substantial area of land for community use, and we look forward to working in partnership to ensure this space delivers meaningful and lasting benefits for local residents."
