Representatives from CAF Bank visited Linthouse Housing Association's head office to acknowledge a key stage in a wide-ranging improvement programme transforming hundreds of homes across the south Glasgow area.
The bank, a specialist provider of financial services to charities, reviewed progress achieved through its funding partnership with Linthouse, which is underpinning upgrades across the association's entire housing stock.
During the visit, CAF Bank staff saw the results of their investment first-hand, including the installation of new double- and triple-glazed windows and fire doors in more than 600 properties, as well as ongoing essential tenement stonework repairs.
The £8m works are being delivered by CCG (Scotland) in collaboration with HOOS Development, supported by the Scottish Government's Social Housing Net Zero Fund.
These upgrades form part of Linthouse Housing Association's long-term strategy to enhance the quality, safety and energy efficiency of its homes. The measures are intended to improve heat retention and cut energy loss for tenants, while stonework repairs protect the structural integrity and historic character of Govan's tenements.
CAF Bank representatives met staff and tenants, undertook site walk-throughs and discussed the wider community benefits arising from the investment.
Linthouse Housing Association Chief Executive, Irene McFarlane, said: "We are extremely proud of the partnership we have built with our funders at CAF Bank and our contractor, CCG. Thanks to partial grant funding from the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council, we have been able to invest in essential repairs to the building envelopes of all 800 of our pre-1919 tenements in Linthouse.
"The feedback from our tenants to date has been overwhelmingly positive, with the installation of energy-efficient double- and triple-glazed windows, alongside high-performance doors making a significant difference to their comfort – helping to retain heat, reduce noise, and enhance security.
"We are pleased to confirm that this multi-million-pound project will be completed this month, alongside the commencement of further stone repairs, ensuring our iconic tenements stand strong for many more years to come."
Fraser McKay, Relationship Director (Scotland), CAF, said: "We were delighted to see the positive impact that CAF Bank funding is having for Linthouse Housing Association and its residents. This partnership demonstrates how dedicated investment can not only improve the quality and energy efficiency of homes, but also support the wellbeing of local communities.
"Thanks to CCG's remarkable work, current and future tenants will have access to homes that will help transform lives for the better. I look forward to following their progress."
David Wylie, Managing Director, CCG (Scotland) added: "We are proud to be delivering these essential improvement works in partnership with Linthouse Housing Association. This programme represents a significant investment in both the quality and sustainability of homes across the area, and it's rewarding to see the positive impact already being felt by residents.
"From installing our high-performance PVCu triple-glazed windows, alongside those from Victorian Sliders, and engineered timber fire doors to carrying out complex stonework repairs on traditional tenements, this is a comprehensive upgrade that requires both technical expertise and a strong understanding of the local built environment.
"Importantly, the programme is supporting jobs and supply chain partners – while contributing to Scotland's Net Zero ambitions. It reflects what can be achieved when organisations work collaboratively with a shared commitment to delivering long-term value for tenants and communities."
The visit highlights a significant step in Linthouse Housing Association's wider investment plans and underscores how partnership-led approaches are improving homes, advancing Net Zero goals and strengthening communities across Govan.
