ScottishPower is providing a significant contribution to community resilience this winter by donating £150,000 to 30 charities across Scotland and the wider UK.
This reinforces the energy provider's continued dedication to supporting communities throughout the colder months.
This latest contribution brings the company's total festive giving to £900,000 since 2020, which has provided aid to a total of 138 charities nationwide.
This year's focus areas for the donation are critical sectors where support is most urgently needed: health, homelessness, domestic violence, older people, and children and the young. Each of the 30 selected charities has received £5,000 to enable them to maintain their vital services throughout the festive period.
Among the recipients is the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, which supports the Glasgow children's hospital by financing enhanced medical equipment, essential family support services, and play programmes to ensure young patients and their families receive the highest level of care and positive experience.
Kirsten Watson, CEO at Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, expressed her gratitude, stating: "We are incredibly grateful to ScottishPower for their kind donation of £5,000. Their generosity will help us to continue to provide vital services for young children and families who visit our hospital from across Scotland."
She added a focus on the festive period: "The festive season can be particularly difficult for children in hospital, but thanks to the generosity of donors like ScottishPower, we can ensure that they can still experience the magic of Christmas through our play programme and special visits. On behalf of our young patients and their families, thank you once again to everyone at ScottishPower for this meaningful gift."
The charities were selected collaboratively by ScottishPower's Social Projects team, in conjunction with third-sector organisations, and included valuable input from the company's staff and employee networks.
Sarah McNulty, Director of People & Organisation at ScottishPower, commented: "We believe in making a positive impact beyond our business. This Christmas, we are proud to support charities that make a real difference in our communities. Giving back is part of who we are, and these donations reflect our commitment to helping individuals and families during the festive season."
ScottishPower's annual festive giving initiative forms a component of its wider dedication to social impact and community investment throughout Scotland and the UK.
