North Lanarkshire Council has secured two honours at this year's Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Excellence Awards.
The Tenant Participation Team was named Scotland's Team of the Year for its standout contribution to the sector and for embedding tenant involvement at the core of housing services.
The Children's Champion Project won the Marion Gibbs Award for Equality in Housing. Developed by a network of frontline staff, the project supports Care Experienced Young People (CEYP) as they move from care into permanent homes. The category recognises projects, initiatives and organisations that promote equality, diversity and inclusion and tackle housing disadvantage.
Housing Convener, Councillor Michael McPake, said: "I'm absolutely delighted for the teams to have been recognised as being the best in Scotland in their field.
"The awards demonstrate the positive impact our services have across the communities they serve and commend the dedication and commitment of our staff who deliver vital services often to some of the most vulnerable people. These awards recognise our innovative approach to delivering first-class services and reaffirms our commitment to improving people's lives and making North Lanarkshire the place to live. Many congratulations to everyone involved."
Judges praised the Tenant Participation Team for innovation, inclusion and collaboration that delivered measurable results. As a local authority landlord in Scotland managing more than 36,000 homes, the council's team has risen to the scale and complexity of this challenge, prioritising engagement, transparency and empowerment so tenants can shape and scrutinise services. The team's achievements also led to TPAS Scotland Gold Accreditation in 2024, with judges noting that meaningful tenant involvement drives service improvements, builds trust and transforms communities.
