Global has announced a major rebrand while breaking ground on a new multi-million pound headquarters in Inverness.
Chairman Roy MacGregor led the groundbreaking ceremony for the company's new 2,000m², state-of-the-art base at the heart of the Inverness Campus Freeport zone. The move follows Global's growth beyond its long-standing Henderson Road premises and will create capacity for up to 50 new staff.
The development comes on the back of a sustained period of expansion, during which Global has added several businesses to its portfolio, including environmental and sustainability consultants Arthian (formerly Mabbett & IKM Consulting), energy infrastructure specialists Approved Power Services, and construction firms Capstone Construction and ScotBuild.
The new headquarters has been designed by award-winning architect David Lawrie of Bracewell, one of Global's most recent acquisitions, which will also operate from the new base. Capstone Construction, another group company, has been appointed principal contractor, with the project scheduled for completion by autumn 2026.
For the first time, the new HQ will bring together the group's diverse operations under one roof, housing Global Infrastructure, Global Power Services, Arthian, Bracewell, Global Highland, Chance Recruitment, Be Personnel and the corporate services team.
Speaking about the development, Roy MacGregor said: "The move to our new, purpose-built office will support the group's ambitious growth strategy. I think the level of investment in our new HQ sends a strong message to the market that through enhanced collaboration, acquisition and maximising of synergies across our portfolio, we will continue to unlock new opportunities within the green energy and utilities sectors - as well as exploring new markets.
"The investment in this fantastic new building comes after we have added 8 companies to the Global portfolio in the last 18 months. The new HQ will give us space to expand as we make further acquisitions and grow organically."
