The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) recently celebrated its 200th anniversary with a special reception held at the Northern Lighthouse Board's office in Edinburgh.
The event followed the charity's founding on Monday, 4 March 1824, and looked ahead to the RNLI's vital future work.
Representatives from Clark Contracts, the main contractor currently building the RNLI's new boathouse in Anstruther, were among those who attended the celebration.
The reception featured speeches from RNLI CEO Peter Sparkes, Jill Hepburn (RNLI Head of Region Scotland), and host Clare Adamson MSP. The focus of the event was on celebrating the crucial collaboration with the RNLI's network of partners, including various agencies, charities, organisations, and individuals, as well as addressing the evolving needs of Scotland's coastal communities.
Michael Scanlan, Director at Clark Contracts, commented on their involvement: "It is fantastic to be involved in RNLI's 200th celebrations and we are proud to be delivering the new flagship RNLI facility at Anstruther."
Clark Contracts is currently on site constructing the new lifeboat station. Once complete, the facility will provide a modern, essential base for the volunteer crew and a permanent home for the state-of-the-art Shannon-class lifeboat, which arrived in Fife last year.
