SP Energy Networks has released its latest Just Transition Report, outlining the tangible progress being made to embed fairness, transparency, and accountability across its operations.
The company's focus is on ensuring a fair and inclusive energy transition to Net Zero that benefits everyone.
The report details the social value created across communities, including over £10.5 million to support customers facing fuel poverty and £180,000 to help households access low-carbon technologies. The company's Net Zero Fund is also highlighted, having empowered communities by funding 31 projects and saving nearly 29,000 tonnes of CO₂e.
Eddie Mulholland, Director of Processes and Technology at SP Energy Networks, said the company is taking "bold steps" to ensure no one is left behind. He added that the transition is about "people" and that a truly sustainable energy future must also be an equitable one.
The company has developed dedicated Just Transition Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure progress in areas such as emissions reduction, workforce diversity, community engagement, and supplier sustainability. The report also notes the company's efforts in expanding training and inclusive employment pathways. SP Energy Networks plans to undertake a full review of its strategy in 2026 to ensure it remains ambitious and responsive.
