The trails at Laggan Wolftrax have been upgraded and improved through a partnership between Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) and the community-run Laggan Forest Trust (LFT).
The enhancements, which were made to the blue and green trails, will allow riders using adaptive bikes to enjoy the mountain biking on offer.
The Wolf Cub Green trail has been fully upgraded with an increased width and resurfacing along its entire length, as well as a significant improvement to its drainage system. Several upgrades were also completed on the Give & Take climb to accommodate a wider range of adaptive bikes.
FLS' Visitor Services Ranger, Maree Morrison, said the upgrades were a testament to the partnership's 20-year success and bolster the centre's already wide-ranging offer.
"Visitors will find a progressive trail network that now provides a skills development platform for complete beginner to expert riders," she said.
The project was made possible with help from a range of partners and funders, including FLS, LFT, Cairngorms National Park Authority, Highland and Islands Enterprise, and Sportscotland.
Cristian Pizarro, Business Development Officer for Laggan Forest Trust, highlighted the centre's newfound inclusivity: "The Trust really wanted to make the trail centre more inclusive and give people using adaptive bikes a chance to experience the excellent riding at Laggan Wolftrax."
The upgraded trails have already been tested by British Paralympic cyclist medallist and adventurer Karen Darke, who said it was "fantastic that places like Laggan have made the effort to upgrade and improve trails for riders of all abilities." She added that it allows her to "meet a group of friends at a trail centre and go riding too."
