Procast Group Secures Contract With ScottishPower

Procast Group has announced a new partnership with ScottishPower to become a key installer of domestic air source heat pumps.

This strategic collaboration will see the Hamilton-based firm supporting ScottishPower's customers across Scotland in upgrading and decarbonising their home heating systems.

This agreement marks Procast Group's first engagement as a heat pump installer with ScottishPower, aligning with the energy company's intensified efforts to roll out zero-carbon heating technologies nationwide. The move is crucial given that residential properties contribute significantly to the UK's carbon emissions, with heat pumps recognised as a vital solution in the journey towards achieving Net Zero.

Residential properties account for 16% of the UK’s carbon emissions and heat pumps are recognised as a crucial solution to support the country’s march to Net Zero by moving homes away from fossil-fuel-forms of heating.

ScottishPower has installed over 4,000 heat pumps in customers homes to date and by expanding its network of qualified installers, the company aims to drive the growth of the UK’s heat pump market further as it meets growing demand from customers.

Many of these installations benefitted from government grants such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme and Energy Companies Obligation 4 (ECO4), which reduce overall costs for customers – particularly those from lower-income households.

Procast Group, which currently employs more than 130 staff, is a market leader in retrofitting work and innovative multi-trade contracting projects across Scotland and the North of England.

The group also operates bases in Aberdeen and Dumfries, with plans for further expansion in Angus afoot.

Derek Innes, Owner and Managing Director of Procast Group, said: “Working with a household name such as ScottishPower is a landmark deal for Procast as we look to continue to expand our operations.

“Our commitment to innovations and clean heating technology is unrivalled and this partnership with ScottishPower is testament to the reputation we have built up as a market leader in this area.

“We are dedicated to providing exemplary service to ScottishPower and their customers looking to install this increasingly vital domestic technology.”

Eileen Anderson, Commercial Development Manager at ScottishPower, said: “We are delighted to bring Procast Group on board to help customers decarbonise their homes.

“ScottishPower has already installed thousands of heat pumps across Scotland, England and Wales, and continue to make a difference to customers, helping them access government-funded schemes and remove any financial barriers where possible.

“We’re looking forward to working with Procast Group, as they offer a professional, smooth heat pump installation process to all our customers undertaking their home decarbonisation journey.”
