Several residential developments featuring Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) services provided by Arc-Tech (Scotland) have been shortlisted as finalists for the 18th annual Scottish Home Awards. The awards ceremony, one of the largest independent gatherings for the housing industry in the country, is set to take place later this year (2025).
A total of ten developments supported by Arc-Tech (Scotland)’s M&E services have made the coveted final list, including projects notable for their pioneering sustainable design.
Among these are three developments featuring Arc-Tech-designed zero-emissions district heating systems:
• Western Villages (444 homes) and Station View (75 homes) are both part of the £1.3 billion Granton Waterfront Regeneration in north Edinburgh, delivered on behalf of The City of Edinburgh Council. Located less than a mile apart, both projects are designed to achieve operational net zero carbon and have adopted a purpose-built cASHP (combined Air-Source Heat Pump) system for space heating and hot water services, designed by Arc-Tech. Western Villages is a finalist for Social Housing Development of the Year (Over 100 Units), Housing Regeneration Project of the Year, and Innovation in Design. Station View is shortlisted for Social Housing Development of the Year (Under 100 Units), Housing Regeneration Project of the Year, and Innovation in Design.
• Clydebank East, an 88-home project for West Dunbartonshire Council, has also been partly supported by a cASHP system designed and installed by Arc-Tech in partnership with Hawthorne Boyle. This development is a finalist for Social Housing Development of the Year (Under 100 Units).
All ten projects that reached the finals, including these three, have also benefited from Arc-Tech’s solar PV panel system and sprinkler installation services, as well as EV charging solutions.
The full list of developments featuring Arc-Tech's involvement that are finalists includes: Western Villages (The City of Edinburgh Council), Granton Station View (The City of Edinburgh Council), Clydebank East (West Dunbartonshire Council), Water Row (Govan HA), The Scholars (CCG Homes), Brandon Street (North Lanarkshire Council), Bearsden Road (Partick HA), Langlands Road (Trust HA), Chestnut Street (Harbour Homes), and Maltings Wynd (igloo Regeneration).
Arc-Tech (Scotland) extended congratulations to the Main Contractor, CCG (Scotland), for receiving these nominations, as well as to all the valuable design team members with whom they collaborated on the nominated projects.
