Enevate Homes is investing £2.9 million to expand its operations, including staff, plant, and equipment, to meet growing demand in the modular housing market.
Scottish Enterprise is supporting the expansion with a £739,000 grant, aimed at encouraging capital investment and boosting productivity.
The announcement was made during Scottish Apprenticeship Week, with visits from Employment and Investment Minister Tom Arthur and Scottish Enterprise Director of Productivity Elaine Morrison.
"Businesses can create opportunities for growth and profitability with capital investment," said Elaine Morrison. "Through its expansion project, Enevate Homes is demonstrating its growth ambition and our support builds on that, underscoring Scottish Enterprise’s commitment to encouraging businesses to invest and increase productivity."
Minister Tom Arthur added: "Enevate not only provides valuable employment, but helps to fulfil a need for affordable housing in an innovative and sustainable way. I am pleased we are able to provide support through Scottish Enterprise to help the company expand its operations in Scotland."
The investment will create 18 new jobs, bringing the company's workforce to 70 employees, including an increased number of apprentices.
Gary Mayatt, Managing Director of Enevate Homes, said: "The grant from Scottish Enterprise has provided us with the opportunity to invest in apprentices and support the future of North Lanarkshire’s younger generation through apprenticeship programs and upskilling initiatives."
Diane Greenlees, Skills Development Scotland Director, highlighted the importance of apprenticeships in the construction sector: "We estimate that the country needs 70,000 new entrants to the sector in the next decade to meet industry demand and apprenticeships can play a major role in ensuring construction employers can meet this challenge."
Enevate Homes utilises patented technology to manufacture steel-framed house modules, reducing on-site costs and build times. Their modular approach also supports a more sustainable built environment, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 70% compared to traditional construction methods.
